| Couples who decide to spend
the most important day of their lives at East
Pier usually fall into two categories. There are
those who wish to hold their reception at one
of Hawke’s Bay’s leading restaurants
because they demand the best for their wedding
breakfast and following reception, and there are
those who do so because they wish to get married
right on the seashore with totally uninterrupted
views of the ocean. The beauty is that whichever
the reason, at East Pier you get the best of both
worlds.
The Ocean Suite
offers 180 degree sea views encompassing The
Inner Harbour, Kawaka Ranges, Westshore Beach,
Port of Napier and the rolling surf of the ocean
all the way to Mahia. It is totally self contained
with its own entrance, bar facilities, decks,
and bathrooms (completed Winter 2005). Its several
sets of French doors open up directly onto the
beachfront lawns. It is on these lawns that
we hold the ceremony, and no other venue in
the country gives you a better backdrop for
your photos. Following the ceremony and the
signing of the registry our service personnel
can serve champagne and canapés out on
the beachfront before moving inside for dinner.
The Ocean Suite
can accommodate any wedding size from 40-180
guests and smaller weddings can be catered for
in The Sacred
Hill Room. Options open to you for weddings
in excess of 180 guests include extending The
Ocean Suite with Marquees or hiring the
entire facility. By doing either one of these
things no wedding is too large.
The Ocean Suite
has its own private bar facilities which can
be stocked to your own specifications and we
are licensed until 2am so you can jive the night
away.
Entertainment options include string quartets
for pre/during dinner and live bands, jukeboxes
or DJ’s for the reception.
Full floral arrangements can also be arranged.
For those out of town guests we have 33 roomed
accommodation
on site all offering wonderful sea views.
